“…You have traveled too fast over false ground
Now your soul has come to take you back
Take refuge in your senses, open up to all the small miracles you rushed through.
Become inclined to watch the way of rain (or snow)
When it falls slow and free
Imitate the habit of twilight
Taking time to open the well of color
That fostered the brightness of day
Draw alongside the silence of stone
Until its calmness can claim you
Be excessively gentle with yourself…”
This past weekend, January 11-13 we ventured down to the shore for a change of scenery to take time out of our regular schedules and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the ocean. This time provided space to reflect on the past several months, relax into the present moment, and then prepare for the second half of the RMC year with a new perspective and renewed sense of commitment. When we arrived Friday, we were greeted by a crisp blue sky and countless stars later on that evening. Then, on Sunday morning, we woke up to a blanket of SNOW which made for some winter fun: snow ball fights and snow angels! All were grateful for this blessed time together.
